FAQ
For more detailed info, please check out my Terms of Service & Commission Process info at: http://mischiart.weebly.com/commission-process.html
Q: What is a commission?
A: In this case, a commission is a personalized, one of a kind piece of digital art tailored to a client's request.
Q: What tools do you use to create your art?
A: I currently use Clip Studio Paint EX and a 19" Ugee Graphics Monitor (Thank you, Woo! <3).
Q: How long have you been offering commissions?
A: I started offering commissions in April of 2014 on DeviantArt. You can find me at mischiart.deviantart.com or on my Twitter account @Mischiart, where I'm most active online.
Q: What is the process to have a commission done?
A: Simply review my commission information at http://mischiart.weebly.com/commission-process.html and fill out one of the Commission Request Forms on this site providing the necessary references. You will then receive a confirmation email from me within 48 hours with the total price and an approximate date for when your sketch is scheduled to begin. You may follow your commission status in queue at https://trello.com/b/stl2nWjK/commissions. Once your commission sketch is submitted, payment is within 48 hours and required before moving to your completed piece for final approval. (Please refer to the commission form for revision limitations) Expect the total process to take roughly two weeks from paid invoice to final piece.
Special Note: If more than one person is going in on a single commission, I will communicate through email only with the individual I'm invoicing. This person will be responsible for noting all edit requests and collecting payments from their party members. My commission process remains the same as any standard commission.
Q: What references are required for a commission?
A: Visual references are required for every commission. This is very important as it reduces revisions caused by differences of written interpretation. Visual refs can include screenshots of your character, armory link (preferred), previously commissioned art and/or Googled references. Custom designs can be commissioned at an additional cost. Written descriptions are very important as well for identifying specific physical traits or important trinkets, tattoos, scarring, etc.
Q: Is there anything you won't draw?
A: I will try just about anything. My list of 'Will Nots' are listed on the NSFW/Pin-Ups Pricing Form.
Q: How do you accept payment?
A: Paypal Invoicing USD.
Q: When is payment due?
A: Payment is due via PayPal Invoice within 48 hours of sketch submittal and before moving to final piece.
Q: Will I get to see the progress on my commission?
A: Yes. You'll receive a sketch of your commission and once approved you'll be sent your completed piece for final color approval. Status updates of my current commission queue can be viewed at https://trello.com/b/stl2nWjK/commissions.
Q: How long will it take to receive my commission?
A: Typically, I will limit my queue so that the turn around on each piece is roughly two weeks from paid invoice.
Q: Can I edit or repost the commission?
A: You may crop or resize the image if using for an avatar or header image, etc. The image can be reposted for non commercial, non profit use with artistic credit and links to me. You do not hold the rights to publish and profit from your commission. You cannot use the image commercially without purchasing a license and a reciept giving my written permission.
Q: How do you handle refunds?
A: Unfortunately, refunds are not given unless I am unable to complete your commission, so please read the commission terms carefully.
Quick note: I retain the right to use commissioned art in my own advertising as a way of displaying my work. I will never sell any image that is commissioned by you as you retain the rights to your own characters. You may request that I not use the image of your character for future advertising by written request.
*Due to a current full commission schedule, if at any time there is a 48 hour lapse with no response, your piece will be placed on hold and rescheduled for completion at my earliest convenience. IF PAYMENT HAS NOT YET BEEN MADE AT THIS POINT, IT MAY RESULT IN A RESCHEDULE OR CANCELLATION OF YOUR SLOT. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN IF WORK HAS BEGUN.
